How Blogging Came To Be

May 12th, 2011

Here is your latest Blog Software Facts Post.

If you have no idea what blogging means, the blog is a web-based journal similar to newspaper whereby you can find news and information much easier and faster. That is apart from being just online diary for bloggers to record their experiences and voice their opinions on certain issues. In fact, blogging has played a key role in politics.

Before the birth of Blogger and WordPress sites, there were digital communities and ecommerce services such as BBS, BiX, CompuServe, Email Lead Generation and Usenet. In the 90s when internet was first launched, they were running most of the operations via internet conversations and threads which served as topical connections.

Going back further to 1983.

In that year, a guy called Brian Redman founded mod.ber. He and his associates posted interesting threads online. It was very similar to blogs due to their similar style of journal publishing. The threads had links to cool sites selected by a certain blogger. Read the rest of this entry »

Blogger: A Quick And Easy Way To Start Blogging

March 4th, 2011

If you are a blogging beginner, and you are searching for
the least complex way to start a blog, Blogger – by Google, yes
that Google! – is the best solution. It takes little effort to
set up, and you can have a decent looking blog in minutes.

Getting Started…

First, you’ll need to go to the Blogger site and click the
“Create an Account” option. Then you’ll be taken to a page
where you are to create your user name and password. Write down
this information as you’ll need it to reference your blog
again. Also, on this page, you’ll need to read over the terms
agreement and check the accept box. Click continue when you are
finished filling out all of these fields.

Now, you’ll be taken to a page where you’ll be required to
name your blog. It is a good idea to name the blog according to
the theme in which it will be used. Putting a lot of thought
into your blog’s name will reap extremely profitable results
down the line. You’ll also be asked to choose your blog’s
domain. Keep it the same as your name as both of these will be
great contributing factors to grabbing people’s interest. After
you have filled in these fields, fill in the rest of the
information. Ignore the “Advance Settings” option and click
“Continue” to proceed to the next page.

On this page, you’ll be required to choose the template.
This template will be the theme of your blog. You’ll have only
ten choices: so, you’ll have to choose the one that will match
the theme of your blog. Should you not like any of the premade
themes, there is a “Create Custom Option” that will enable you
to make a template that is appealing to your taste. However, if
you are a beginner, it is best to stick with the premade
options so as to avoid massive confusion and frustration.

Finally, you are finished! You are now ready to begin
posting to your blog gaining for yourself a presence on the
web.

Should you become tired of the theme of your blog, you can
make any changes you’d like at a later date. You can give your
blog a complete makeover if you wish, changing everything about
it including the blog URL, the title, background, and content.
It isn’t frustrating to do at all as it can be done with just a
few simple clicks.
